understanding, forgiving, supportive

People will always make mistakes -- we will never evolve to be perfect, and I'm glad we won't.

I instead hope we evolve to be more understanding, to be more compassionate towards each other. The ability to trust people is something I hope comes back between 2020 and 2060. I hope people, especially my generation, remember 2020 as a gradual turning point, a time in their lives when they were able to reset, to take time to understand their priorities.

Every single day of elementary school (other than the times I faked a fever to get out of the multiplication quiz or whatever of the day), my mom would always say, "Do something good for someone else today." What I learned most from this was not to do something good for a reason, just to do it. When we do good without expecting a reward or recognition or anything really, we are training ourselves. Like calf muscles or the six-pack I will never have, compassion and kind thinking requires practice in both thought and action. I am glad my mom always emphasized this to us growing up.
