Summary
In 2060, the pandemic's footprint has left us always more conscious about how the little things we do might impact or endanger others.
The US's previous aversion to face masks is long forgotten. We isolate whenever possible in flu season and the companies have built systems to encourage it. Grocery store elderly hour at the beginning of the day is normal. Upon seeing the downspike in emissions during the pandemic, we drive, fly, and pollute less. The air is cleaner, you could safely swim in the Chicago river. We still aren't perfect, many of our current problems are still rampant, but we are more conscious of the safety of the people and world around us.
The words that represent 2060 are: aware, triage, and empathetic.
People will remember 2020 as a disruption before the new normal.
